Campaign across Bangladesh to make Wasfia “People’s Choice” Adventurer of the Year at National Geographic, 2014. Photo showing members of the popular band Joler Gaan, most of whom knew and studied theatre with Wasfia since she was barely a teen. The composition can be heard here. The song losely translates to:

"Sky Earth Water...
Lets touch and proclaim,
Am getting lost... Am getting lost...

Waterfalls, Streams, Rivers...
If we meet on the way...
Lets get drenched, oh lets get drenched..."

Wasfia on Al Jazeera on her way to Everest, 2012:

As the country celebrates independence, we look at the struggle for gender equality. At Al Jazeera English, we focus on people and events that affect people's lives. We bring topics to light that often go under-reported, listening to all sides of the story and giving a 'voice to the voiceless.'
